We have 65 retirement cottages at Elizabeth Gardens, 38 cottages at Midmar Gardens, and 28 cottages at Hayfields Gardens.
HADCA’s cottages are sold on the ‘life rights’ basis. Cottage residents pay an endowment, which entitles them to occupy their cottage for life. When a resident leaves their cottage and it becomes available for re-endowment, the outgoing resident is repaid 100% of their endowment – less a refurbishing cost of 2% or calculated at half percent per year of their endowment price,which ever is the greatest, but not exceeding 10%.
